grade 5 update/ dec. 18th

In Dinim: We completed the laws of Chanuka. The students did a great power point project about the story of Chanuka. They also designed original chanukiot. There will be a test on Chanuka this coming Tuesday. Tomorrow we will have a review in class.

In Navi: We started perek 4 in Shoftim and learned about D'vora HaNeviah. The students did so well on the last Navi test on Ehud Ben Gera, Otniel and Shamgar ben Anat.

In Mishna: We continue to learn the important skills according to the Bonayich program: Mimikra L'Mishna.

In Chumash: We are about to finish perek 37 about the selling of Yosef. We will be learning the last psukim of the perek and reviewing the Rashi letters and a few psukim in Rashi.

A test will be given a week after vacation.

grade 6/ update

In Dinim: We completed our study of the laws of Chanuka and will have a review tomorrow (Mon). The test will be on Tuesday. Students can earn 5 bonus points if they go over the laws with their parents and have the parents sign.

In Navi:We completed perek 4 about the Aron Ha Brit (Ark) being taken by the Plishtim and the punishment of Beit Eli. We are progressing towards the anointing of the first king of Israel : Shaul.

In Chumash: We will start Shirat HaYam right after vacation.

In Mishna: We are about to finish the Tekufat HaNisiiim and the wandering of the Sanhedrin until the time of Rav Yehuda HaNasi. The students worked on a project using the computer on Anshei Knesset HaGedola and Rabbi Yehuda HaNasi.

Our other big project was on Chanuka: The students worked on a puppet show telling the story of Chanuka. One group performed at the Chanuka Hop and it was a great success!

Our second show will be this Wed at the Chanuka assembly at 9:30 and we hope you will be there!

The students received our Chanuka packet and we will begin our study of Chanuka.

They are completing a Powerpoint project of the story of Chanuka.

Tomorrow they will get the study guide for the Navi test on perek gimel which is this Tuesday.

In Chumash we are near completing our study of Mechirat Yosef ( the selling of Yosef).

In Mishna we continue in our study of MiMikra L'Mishna.

Tomorrow the children will receive their study guide for the Navi test which is on Tuesday.
