grade 4 Judaic Newsletter/ Nov 30

B”H

                                    Rabbi Elbaz’s Judaic Newsletter/ Nov. 30

We had a busy week in Kita Daled. In Chumash we reviewed important vocabulary from perek 29 by matching exercises and “Eich Katuv BaTorah” questions. We will have a quiz on this perek on Wed. Then we will continue to meet the tribes of Israel in perek 30 in Parashat Vayeitzei. We always emphasize accurate reading of the text, comprehension, and increasing our Chumash vocabulary.

In Navi the students completed learning prakim aleph and bet in Sefer Yehoshua including a comprehensive review for our quiz that will be this coming Thursday. We also completed a project on Bnei Yisrael’s conquest of Eretz Yisrael. They did an amazing job and I will hang them on our fourth grade bulletin board soon, so please make sure you stop by. This coming week we will begin learning about the big miracles that Hashem did for Bnei Yisrael in their conquest of the land such as the splitting of the Jordan River.

In Dinim the students are near completing their Chanuka dinim packet and will be tested on it after Chanuka. Speaking of Chanuka we will have a mini- Maccabia during the week of Chanuka to enhance our learning and compete in different fields of knowledge and sports.

In Parasha the students got another D’var Torah to share with you. Please sign so I know they did.

Thank you for your ongoing cooperation!

Shavua Tov!

grade 6 newsletter/ nov 30

B”H

                                                Rabbi Elbaz’s Judaic Newsletter/ Nov.30

We had a busy week in Kita Vav. In Chumash we are nearing the completion of our study of perek daled (4). We worked on our packets, emphasized Chumash vocabulary, accurate reading of the text, and comprehension. We also worked on different Rashi’s from psukim 3-6 and will continue learning a few more Rashi’s on psukim 9-13. When we complete our study, the students will receive a guideline to help them prepare for their test which will be some time after Chanuka.

In Navi we completed perek heh (5) in Sefer Shmuel and learned about what happened to the Plishtim ( Philistines) who took the Aron HaBrit ( Holy Ark). We learned that they wanted to return it to Bnei Yisrael.. The students worked on the worksheets for this perek which focused on comprehension and important vocabulary. Next week we will continue on to perek vav and after Chanuka have our test on prakim 4 and 5. The students will receive a guideline to help them study.

In Dinim we completed our Chanuka packet and will have our test this coming Thursday.

In Parasha the students had another D’var Torah to share with you as well as the main topics of the parsha and questions. I hope you enjoyed it with them. Please sign and return so I know you did.

Mishna Lishma: Mishna Lunch N’ Learn: The sixth grade boys asked me to teach them Mishna during their free time ( lunch) and we have been having short Mishna lessons twice a week during our lunch time. This has been so rewarding for them and for me. It is wonderful to see children who want to learn out of love for the Torah and not for any grade! We are presently completing perek 9 in Masechet Brachot HaRoeh. Yishar Koach to our sixth grade boys!!

Shavua Tov!
